TEACHER’S MEETING TODAY
– There will be a brief meeting for Sunday School Teachers after worship
today.
Please plan on joining us for a special celebration highlighting our Room to Read Campaign on September 21st. During the worship service, we'll include a special children's message with Dewey Decimal who will present reading awards for those children and youth who have participated in our summer Read-a-thon, as well as a focus on our fund-raising efforts which will benefit children of Nepal. The Sunday school program will highlight the country of Nepal and how we can help their children get a better education. At the end of the worship service, our children will return to the sanctuary to lead us to fellowship hall with Dewey Decimal as the Grand Marshall of our parade. During the Social Hour, we'll hear music from Nepal, enjoy refreshments that Nepalese children enjoy, and have the opportunity to purchase Room to Read T-shirts, items created by the SS kids in honor of Room to Read, and make donations to this very important ministry. In the meantime, please check out the Room to Read bulletin board in Fellowship Hall for photos and background information on this important mission or, contact Jane and Bob Breisch, co-chairs of our Room to Read Mission Committee should you have questions or have an interest in volunteering for the committee. HARVEST HOME SERVICE: On Sunday, September 28th, St. Peter’s will celebrate a Harvest Home worship service. The church will be decorated to reflect the season of harvest, and food will be collected for three charities: St. Mary’s Shelter, Good Samaritan Shelter, and King Terrace. Please bring food donations of non-perishables to church before September 28th, so that the donations can be displayed. Children are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to church each Sunday in September. All donations can be placed in boxes in the front entrance of the church. Thank you.
SPECIAL CONGREGATION MEETING – We will be holding a special Congregation meeting on September 28, following our worship service. This meetings agenda is to share with our members and friends the Long Range Plans we have been working on. We are not ready to ask for approval but rather would like to invite your input over the next few months so that we can finalize the plan for your consideration at the December Annual Meeting. Please make every effort to join us on the 28th.
